In March 2016 LCED took part to an inter-agency Initial Rapid Needs Assessment (IRNA), coordinated by UN OCHA in Mundri West, Western Equatoria state. LCED participated as representative of the ES/NFI cluster in the need assessment conducted in Garyia, Landigwa and Bangolo town. The IRNA was also pared with a distribution of survival kits by IOM, female hygiene kits and WASH NFI kits by Oxfam and emergency health kits by Adventist Health International (AHI). The distribution was conducted in Mundri town, Bangolo and Gariya.
The villages located south of Mundri town, in Western Equatoria State, are affected by conflict and have not received humanitarian assistance for over a year. The road towards those areas has been blocked since May 2015, due to insecurity.
